Very little is filled at the can. It is drawn down from a drum or an IBC, and that transfer is where the spill and the contamination happen.
A distributor stocking our HDPE cans is usually already handling drums. The adapter is what connects the two parts of their shelf.
Polymer where chemical resistance governs, stainless where durability and cleaning do.
