Quoted on enquiry

These depend on your order, your market or the certificate that covers your run, so we quote them rather than publish one figure that would be wrong for most buyers. Ask and you get the number for your specification.

  • Intended contents
  • Stainless grade
  • UN certification code
  • Approval / test certificate number
  • Minimum order quantity

Before you order: Confirm intended contents and stainless grade at quotation. Stainless suits fuel and many fluids, but the food-grade AISI 304 water line is specified separately.

Dimensions, material thickness, carton and container figures come from the current production specification. Empty weights are derived from the quoted net carton weight. Confirm against the drawing issued with your order.

Why It Is Built This Way

What makes this product different

01

Survives salt

Marine and coastal storage destroys painted and galvanised steel over a few seasons. Stainless is the honest answer, not a thicker coat of paint.

02

Same footprint as the galvanised line

Identical external dimensions, so a distributor can offer good and better across one shelf position without a second mounting solution.

03

Cleanable

Can be washed down and stored wet, which suits boats, workshops and food-adjacent operations.

04

Premium shelf presence

Bare stainless reads as the upgrade product and supports the price gap over galvanised.

Manufacturing & Quality

How it is made, and how it is checked

Manufacturing

The body is pressed and welded in AISI 304 stainless steel, a food-contact grade chosen so the metal itself is the barrier and there is no lining to fail. Production runs across our Vietnam and China plants under one specification managed from Singapore.

Quality control

UN 3A1 certification is earned through a defined test regimen, and the can is built and verified to it:

  • Leakproofness test — seams and closure checked under air pressure
  • Internal pressure test — the body proven to its packing group
  • Drop test — a filled can dropped from the certified height
  • Stacking test — holds a warehouse stack load without distortion
  • Dimensional and finish inspection against the drawing

Certificate, test report and stamped UN marking are available for the exact design you order.

Compliance by market

What this product has to satisfy, market by market

The regimes that apply to this type of container in each market we ship to, with the detail behind each one a click away. This is what the market asks for; what this particular design already holds is in the specification above.

Orientation for specification, not legal advice, and not a statement that this design holds a given approval. Requirements turn on the exact design, contents and destination, and they change. Tell us the market at enquiry and we confirm what applies to your specification, what we hold and what we would need to obtain.

Questions, Answered

The things buyers ask before they order

Why choose the stainless horizontal can over the galvanised one?

The stainless build is for marine, coastal and wash-down settings where galvanised steel eventually corrodes. It shares the same low horizontal footprint, so it stows in the same lockers and frames.

What is it made from?

Stainless steel sheet, 0.7 mm on the 5 litre and 0.8 mm on the 10 and 20 litre. The stainless surface takes salt spray and repeated wash-down without the rust galvanising eventually shows.

Can I put drinking water or food-grade liquid in this stainless can?

This is a general stainless build specified for fuel and many fluids, not the certified food-grade line. For potable water and food contact, order our AISI 304 food-grade stainless water cans, which are specified separately.

What contents is it suited to?

Fuel and a range of workshop and marine fluids. Tell us the exact liquid and we will confirm the stainless grade is right for it before you order.

What sizes are available?

5, 10 and 20 litres, matching the galvanised line footprint. The 5 litre measures 40.7 by 24.3 by 14.2 cm, the 10 litre 36 by 25.5 by 21 cm and the 20 litre 50.6 by 30.6 by 26 cm.

Is it UN approved for fuel?

Yes, the can is UN approved, and steel fuel cans certify to UN 3A1 by design and by plant. Ask us for the certificate for the exact size and build, and name the destination market so we confirm any EPA or CARB requirements for US or California fuel sales.

Where does the low profile help on a boat or vehicle?

It lies flat under a gunwale seat, in a lazarette or on a rack where an upright can will not clear. The stainless surface then survives the salt that that environment throws at it.

Can it be branded for our retail programme?

Yes. Stainless takes a clean laser etch or emboss, and we can powder coat to a RAL colour if you want a painted finish. It reads as premium on a shelf.

How is it cleaned and reused?

Stainless wipes down and rinses out, so it holds up to repeated cleaning better than a coated can. Match any cleaning agent to the liquid you are storing.

What are MOQ, lead time and where is it made?

MOQ and lead time come with your quotation and depend on size, finish and branding. The cans are made in Vietnam and China and managed from Singapore.
