Quoted on enquiry

These depend on your order, your market or the certificate that covers your run, so we quote them rather than publish one figure that would be wrong for most buyers. Ask and you get the number for your specification.

  • Dangerous goods marking
  • UN certification code
  • Minimum order quantity

Before you order: Fuel containers carry a dangerous goods certification regime that varies by destination market. Confirm requirements with us before importing.

Dimensions, material thickness, carton and container figures come from the current production specification. Empty weights are derived from the quoted net carton weight. Confirm against the drawing issued with your order.

Why It Is Built This Way

What makes this product different

01

Colour to your programme

RAL colour matching across a range, which matters when a distributor runs a house colourway across categories.

02

Lower entry price

Simpler tooling than the NATO pattern brings the unit cost down for price-led retail and fleet volume.

03

Hydrocarbon interior

Coated for fuel service rather than adapted from a general-purpose can.

04

Stacks and palletises

Regular upright footprint that fills a pallet efficiently, which is where freight cost is won on low-value goods.

Manufacturing & Quality

How it is made, and how it is checked

Manufacturing

The body is pressed from cold-rolled steel to the pattern, seam-welded, then finished as set out in the specification above: internal coating, galvanising or powder coat according to what the can carries. Pressing runs across our Vietnam and China plants under one specification managed from Singapore, so the drawing and closure stay identical whichever plant fills the order.

Quality control

Every can is checked before it leaves the plant:

  • Leakproofness test — seams and closure checked under air pressure
  • Drop test — a filled can dropped to confirm it survives handling
  • Dimensional inspection against the drawing
  • Interior and finish inspection for coverage and defects
Compatible Liquids

What it holds, and what it does not

Suitable for

Petrol, diesel, kerosene

Not suitable for

Acids, alkalis, food and drinking water. The steel body is built for hydrocarbon fuels and oils, so water, food and aggressive chemicals need a different line.

Compliance by market

What this product has to satisfy, market by market

The regimes that apply to this type of container in each market we ship to, with the detail behind each one a click away. This is what the market asks for; what this particular design already holds is in the specification above.

Orientation for specification, not legal advice, and not a statement that this design holds a given approval. Requirements turn on the exact design, contents and destination, and they change. Tell us the market at enquiry and we confirm what applies to your specification, what we hold and what we would need to obtain.

Questions, Answered

The things buyers ask before they order

Can I store AdBlue or diesel exhaust fluid in the 20L Upright Steel Fuel Tank?

No. This is a coated steel fuel container specified for petrol, diesel and kerosene, and DEF corrodes and contaminates in steel. Use a dedicated DEF-compatible HDPE can for AdBlue.

What is the tank made from and how thick is the steel?

The body is pressed steel internally coated for hydrocarbon service, in 0.8 mm galvanized steel sheet. The interior coating is what lets it hold petrol, diesel and kerosene.

Can I use it for drinking water, food or chemicals such as acids?

No. The hydrocarbon interior is specified for fuel only, not for potable water, food, or acids and alkalis. We make a separate AISI 304 food-grade line for water.

Is this fuel tank UN certified for dangerous goods?

Steel fuel cans of this type certify to UN 3A1 by design and by production plant. Ask us for the certificate and test report covering this specific design and your fill.

What documentation do I need to import and sell it?

Fuel containers carry a dangerous goods regime that varies by destination, and US and California sales also need EPA and CARB compliance. Tell us your market and we will confirm what applies before you order.

Can I get it in my own colour and branding?

Yes. The tank is powder coated to a RAL colour of your choice, and we add your private label by laser etch or emboss. Confirm details at quotation.

What is your minimum order quantity and lead time?

MOQ and lead time are quoted per order and per specification. Send us your volume and finish and we will confirm both on the quotation.

What applications is this tank suited to?

It works for fuel distribution, fleet and workshop use, agriculture, plant hire and hardware retail. The lower entry price and RAL colour options make it a common private-label choice.

Can the tank be reused, and is the steel recyclable?

Steel does not permeate the way untreated plastic can, so a sound can gives long service. At end of life the steel is fully recyclable.

How is this different from your NATO can?

This is an upright non-NATO format at 35.2 x 18 x 47.5 cm, built as a lower-priced fleet and retail tank rather than the three-handle military pattern. It shares the coated hydrocarbon interior.
