Quoted on enquiry

These depend on your order, your market or the certificate that covers your run, so we quote them rather than publish one figure that would be wrong for most buyers. Ask and you get the number for your specification.

  • Stainless grade
  • Intended contents
  • UN certification code
  • Approval / test certificate number
  • Minimum order quantity

Before you order: Confirm intended contents and stainless grade at quotation. This line is specified for fuel and general fluids; potable water is served by the AISI 304 food-grade line.

Dimensions, material thickness, carton and container figures come from the current production specification. Empty weights are derived from the quoted net carton weight. Confirm against the drawing issued with your order.

Why It Is Built This Way

What makes this product different

01

No coating to fail

A painted or galvanised can is only as good as its finish. Bare stainless has nothing to chip off in the first place.

02

Standard NATO geometry

Mounts in the same carriers and holders as the painted steel line, so it is a straight upgrade rather than a different product.

03

Tap version available

The 20L can be supplied with a tap, which turns it into a dispensing can for a bench or tailgate.

04

Reads as premium on a shelf

Bare stainless photographs well and carries a higher retail price than the painted equivalent.

Manufacturing & Quality

How it is made, and how it is checked

Manufacturing

The body is pressed and welded in AISI 304 stainless steel, a food-contact grade chosen so the metal itself is the barrier and there is no lining to fail. Production runs across our Vietnam and China plants under one specification managed from Singapore.

Quality control

UN 3A1 certification is earned through a defined test regimen, and the can is built and verified to it:

  • Leakproofness test — seams and closure checked under air pressure
  • Internal pressure test — the body proven to its packing group
  • Drop test — a filled can dropped from the certified height
  • Stacking test — holds a warehouse stack load without distortion
  • Dimensional and finish inspection against the drawing

Certificate, test report and stamped UN marking are available for the exact design you order.

Compliance by market

What this product has to satisfy, market by market

The regimes that apply to this type of container in each market we ship to, with the detail behind each one a click away. This is what the market asks for; what this particular design already holds is in the specification above.

Orientation for specification, not legal advice, and not a statement that this design holds a given approval. Requirements turn on the exact design, contents and destination, and they change. Tell us the market at enquiry and we confirm what applies to your specification, what we hold and what we would need to obtain.

Questions, Answered

The things buyers ask before they order

Why the bare stainless NATO can?

No paint to chip and no rust to chase. It holds the standard NATO upright geometry in bare 0.8 mm stainless, which reads as premium on a shelf and shrugs off knocks.

What can it hold?

It is specified for fuel and general fluids. It is not the food-grade water can, so potable water goes in our AISI 304 stainless water line instead.

Can I use it for drinking water?

Not this line. It is specified for fuel and general fluids and it is not certified for food contact. For potable water and food-grade paperwork, choose the AISI 304 stainless water can.

Is it suitable for acids or aggressive chemicals?

Stainless resists more than coated steel, but we do not rate this line for aggressive acids. Send us the exact chemical and we will tell you whether stainless or our HDPE range fits.

What sizes and thickness are available?

10 and 20 litre in 0.8 mm stainless steel. The 10 litre measures 35.2 by 18 by 29 cm and the 20 litre 35.2 by 18 by 47.5 cm.

Can I get it with a tap?

Yes. The tap option is available on the 20 litre, which turns it into a stable bench dispensing point. Confirm the tap seal against your fluid at quotation.

Is it UN-certified for fuel?

The design is UN approved. Steel fuel cans of this type are certified to UN 3A1 by design and plant, so ask us for the certificate, test report and stamped marking for the exact size you order.

Is it durable and recyclable?

Bare stainless has no coating to fail, so it reuses well and cleans easily, and stainless is recyclable at end of life.

Can we brand bare stainless?

Yes. We laser etch or emboss directly into the stainless, and we can powder coat to a specified RAL colour if you want the body finished. Private label is available.

Does it fit standard mounts, and how is it ordered?

It keeps the standard NATO geometry, so it seats in the usual holders and racks. It packs four to a carton, is made in Vietnam and China managed from Singapore, and MOQ and lead time come on quotation.
