Quoted on enquiry

These depend on your order, your market or the certificate that covers your run, so we quote them rather than publish one figure that would be wrong for most buyers. Ask and you get the number for your specification.

  • Minimum order quantity

Before you order: This line carries no dangerous-goods approval and must not be used for hazardous contents. If your product is classified for transport you need the UN-certified line instead.

Why It Is Built This Way

What makes this product different

01

The approval is the cost

A UN design-type approval is a destructive test programme held per site. If your product is not a dangerous good, you are paying for a certificate that does nothing for you.

02

Fastest line to launch

No approval programme in front of it, so this is the quickest SKU in the range to get into a market.

03

Same tooling, same shelf

Identical body and stacking geometry to the certified line, so it sits on the same pallet and the same rack.

04

Clearly marked

Supplied without UN marking so nobody mistakes it for a certified can. That is deliberate.

Manufacturing & Quality

How it is made, and how it is checked

Manufacturing

The can is blow-moulded from high-density polyethylene in a single seamless wall, with the neck and handle formed in the same shot, so there is no seam to split under load. Moulding runs across our Vietnam and China plants under one specification managed from Singapore.

Quality control

UN 3H1 certification is earned through a defined test regimen, and the can is built and verified to it:

  • Leakproofness test — seams and closure checked under air pressure
  • Internal pressure test — the body proven to its packing group
  • Drop test — a filled can dropped from the certified height
  • Stacking test — holds a warehouse stack load without distortion
  • Dimensional and finish inspection against the drawing

Certificate, test report and stamped UN marking are available for the exact design you order.

Compatible Liquids

Non-hazardous liquids only

Not suitable for

Fuels unless the can is fluorinated, and any chemical you have not had confirmed.

Send us the exact liquid, its concentration and its temperature and we confirm it against a compatibility check before you order.

Compliance by market

What this product has to satisfy, market by market

The regimes that apply to this type of container in each market we ship to, with the detail behind each one a click away. This is what the market asks for; what this particular design already holds is in the specification above.

Orientation for specification, not legal advice, and not a statement that this design holds a given approval. Requirements turn on the exact design, contents and destination, and they change. Tell us the market at enquiry and we confirm what applies to your specification, what we hold and what we would need to obtain.

Questions, Answered

The things buyers ask before they order

What can I put in the economy can?

It is for non-hazardous liquids only and carries no dangerous-goods approval. If your product is classified for transport you need the UN-certified line instead, so send us the contents and we tell you which side you are on.

Can it hold acids or chemicals?

HDPE resists many acids and chemicals, but this line is for non-hazardous liquids and carries no UN rating. Tell us the exact substance and we confirm both its compatibility and whether it needs the certified can.

Is it food-grade?

The economy line is a general non-hazardous can, not specified for food contact. For food or beverage use, ask us about the Food-Grade HDPE line, which is specified for that.

Does it resist permeation from solvents?

Plain HDPE can let some solvents and fuels permeate slowly, and those liquids are usually hazardous anyway, which this line is not for. For permeating or flammable liquids, look at the fluorinated or antistatic lines.

Can I use it for flammable liquids?

No. Flammable liquids are dangerous goods and this can has no UN approval and no static control. The antistatic UN-certified line is the correct specification for flammables.

Why choose this over the UN version?

The dangerous-goods approval is much of the cost and lead time, so removing it for non-hazardous liquids makes this the cheapest and fastest line to launch. It uses the same stackable body and shelf footprint as the certified cans.

It is not UN rated, so what packing group does it cover?

None. It is not UN certified and must not be used for any dangerous goods or packing group. If your liquid carries a packing group, we move you to the certified line.

Can I reuse it, and how long does it last?

Clean HDPE can be reused for non-hazardous liquids, and it carries a service life from its date of manufacture. Ask us for the manufacturing date and reuse guidance for your application.

Can you colour and brand it?

Yes. It comes in natural, blue, black or your RAL reference, and we can add in-line marking for a private-label programme. Sizes run 5, 10, 20, 25 and 30 litre.

What are the order terms?

Minimum order and lead time come on quotation. The cans are moulded in Vietnam and China and managed from Singapore, and HDPE is resin code 2 and recyclable when clean.
